Privacy Notice

Version 2026-09-18

1. About this notice

This Privacy Notice explains what information CopyCove processes when you use the service and how that information is handled.

2. Information stored by CopyCove

CopyCove may store the pad name, the text placed into the pad, a securely hashed version of the pad PIN, creation and last-edit timestamps, a revision number and a record showing when the applicable Terms & Conditions were accepted.

CopyCove does not intentionally store the IP address used to create a pad in its application database.

3. Network and security processing

Internet services necessarily process network information, including IP addresses, in order to deliver connections and protect systems.

CopyCove uses Cloudflare infrastructure to provide secure connectivity and security services. Cloudflare and relevant hosting or network providers may therefore process technical connection information in accordance with their own data-handling practices.

CopyCove may also use a connection address temporarily for security controls such as rate limiting. This address is not attached to a pad or intentionally retained in the CopyCove room database.

4. Cloudflare Turnstile

When public pad creation is available, CopyCove uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help determine whether a pad-creation request is being made by a legitimate user rather than by automated or abusive traffic.

In providing this verification, Cloudflare may process technical information associated with the request, which may include network, browser, device and interaction information required to operate the security check.

CopyCove receives the result of the Turnstile verification and uses it to decide whether the pad-creation request may proceed. As part of server-side verification, CopyCove may provide the connection IP address associated with the pad-creation request to Cloudflare.

Turnstile is used for security and abuse prevention. CopyCove does not use it for advertising or behavioural advertising.

5. Why information is processed

Information is processed to provide the CopyCove service, maintain pad access and synchronisation, prevent abuse, maintain security, troubleshoot faults, moderate the service and operate the platform.

6. Pad content

Pad content may contain personal information if a user chooses to enter it.

An authorised CopyCove administrator can access stored pad content for moderation, security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention and operation of the service.

CopyCove should not be used for highly sensitive or confidential information.

7. Retention

Pads are automatically deleted approximately 10 days after their most recent successful edit.

Deleting a pad removes its stored pad content and associated room information from the active CopyCove database.

8. Cookies and sessions

CopyCove uses essential session information to remember that a pad has been unlocked and to protect administrator sessions.

These functions are required for operation of the service. CopyCove does not currently use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies.

Third-party security services used by CopyCove, including Cloudflare, may use or access technologies necessary to provide their security and anti-abuse functions.

9. Security

Pad PINs are stored as password hashes rather than readable PIN values.

Pad text is stored as ordinary text within the CopyCove database and is therefore not end-to-end encrypted.

10. Your information

Depending on the circumstances and applicable data-protection law, you may have rights relating to personal information held about you, including rights of access, correction, deletion or objection.

Privacy enquiries should be directed to the CopyCove administrator.

11. Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated if CopyCove's operation or data-handling practices change. The version shown at the top identifies the current notice.
